Terms & Conditions (Terms of Service)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering on, or using the Homemade platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

• Registering, booking a worker, posting an open job, submitting a quote, or making a payment constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
• We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes means acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. The Marketplace Service Model (We Are Not an Employer)

Homemade is a technology marketplace and discovery platform that connects Homeowners (Customers) with independent workers (verified trade & domestic professionals).

3. Accounts & Role Types

Users register under one of two role types:

• Customer: A homeowner looking to hire verified domestic or trade workers.
• Worker (Homemaid): A verified trade or domestic professional offering household services.

Registration requires a valid full name, email address, password (minimum 8 characters), and acceptance of these Terms. Workers registered as homemaid must complete a partner profile before their listing becomes active in the marketplace.

4. Worker Profiles & Verification

Worker profiles display display name, worker trade category, city, area, availability, expected rate/salary, services offered, bio, rating, and customer reviews.

We reserve the right to verify identities, review uploaded documents, delist profiles violating platform rules, and adjust experience or ratings based on empirical feedback. Rating and review scores reflect community feedback and serve as estimates rather than absolute guarantees.

5. Bookings & Worker Assignment

Bookings are initiated via two distinct workflows:

1. Direct Worker Booking Inquiry: Homeowners select a specific worker profile, assigning a pending request exclusively to that worker.
2. Shared Marketplace Pool: Unassigned pending requests may be claimed by any eligible verified worker in that trade category.

Accepting a booking constitutes a binding commitment by the worker to fulfill the requested service as described.

6. Open Job Board & Quotes (Household Jobs)

Customers can post open job listings specifying trade category, workers needed, budget, pricing unit (monthly/daily/hourly/fixed), and target start date. Verified workers submit direct quotes (quote amount + pitch message). Once a customer accepts a quote, a confirmed booking contract is established.

7. Payments, Fees & Earnings

All completed platform payments issue itemized digital receipts tracking receipt number, booking reference, customer name, worker name, amount, payment method, and completion timestamp. Workers are solely responsible for declaring income and fulfilling applicable statutory tax obligations.

8. Notifications & Communication

The platform delivers in-app notifications and transactional emails (e.g. OTP verification, booking status updates, quote alerts). Verification codes (OTP) are time-sensitive and confidential. Platform staff will never ask for your OTP.

9. Prohibited Conduct

Users agree not to provide false identity info, book or accept bookings without intention to fulfill, manipulate review ratings, upload illegal/hazardous service requests, or attempt to bypass platform guidelines.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Homemade provides a direct marketplace discovery service. Homemade is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from domestic or trade services agreed between customer and worker.

11. Reviews & Ratings

Logged-in customers can leave ratings and comments on completed bookings. Reviews are attributed and used to calculate worker scores. Defamatory or fraudulent reviews may be removed.
